The main purpose of musat is to correct and restore the cutting properties of the knife by removing burrs and other minor damages and forming a micro-groove. Ruby musat from prostaStal is a convenient way to quickly restore the cutting properties of a knife and remove rough chips on the cutting edge. It is designed for quick and high-quality sharpening and deburring. But the main keyword here is the correction of the cutting edge, not sharpening, as some customers may think. It is best suited for knives with a hardness of 54-60 units on the Rockwell scale. For knives with a higher hardness, musat is not recommended, as it can chip off parts of the cutting edge or not adjust it effectively.
As for working with musat, it is important to maintain the angle of sharpening the knife. In the field, it can be difficult to restore its accuracy, so you need to apply the knife with the cutting edge to the musat and find the optimal angle by feel. Musatite should be along the cutting edge, and the knife should be directed with the cutting edge towards you and drawn along the musat in the direction of yourself (and vice versa). In this way, a microcut of the cutting edge is formed.
The photo shows the cutting edge under a microscope, where:

It is necessary to make about 10-15 movements on each side. You can check the result using a piece of paper.
After work, musat may remain contaminated with microparticles of metal. To remove them, you can use gun oil, Johnson's Baby oil, or wet wipes. If necessary, musat can be washed with a washcloth and soap.
Musat has a convenient holder with six eyelets at a distance of 2 cm and 2 ties included. Its diameter is 10 mm, length - 100 mm, grit - 5000. It can be attached to the sheath of a knife or a backpack using paracord. You can also purchase a Molly lock attachment to attach the musat to the Molly system.
